The Grounded Movement team believes that Pilates is beneficial for every body, at any age or fitness level. The beauty of Pilates as a method is that the exercises can be modified to cater for each individual, based on what they need on any given day. Working with your skilled practitioner, you will experience the benefit of a highly personalised Pilates program developed to address your needs and goals. You will work in our fully equipped Malvern East studio, using Pilates equipment including the Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda Chairs, as well as modern props such as foam rollers, exercise circles and resistance bands.

Initial Consultation
Your Pilates pathway with Grounded Movement begins with an Initial Consultation, a private session with a physiotherapist allowing us to gather important information such as any relevant medical and injury history. We conduct a physical assessment and begin to establish your strengths and areas for particular focus. This guides the development of your program to ensure we are making objective and functional improvements and achieving your goals. You will be introduced to the fundamental principles of Pilates and begin to familiarise yourself with the studio and the unique terminology.

Orientation Pilates Session
Your first Pilates session with Grounded Movement is an Orientation Pilates Session. This is a private session and is designed for you and your practitioner to begin building your Pilates program, based on the information gathered in the Initial Consultation. You will learn the flow of the Pilates session, starting with the mat warm up before being introduced to the equipment, such as the Reformer. This private session gives you the opportunity to ask as many questions as you need, to assist with building your confidence.

Regular Pilates sessions
In an ideal world, we believe that everybody should be doing Pilates every day; Joseph Pilates preferred his clients visit the studio to train 3 times per week! We are also realistic and understand that this not feasible for most people. Our recommendation is:
- Once a week to understand it
- Twice a week to feel it
- Three times a week for transformation
